Make an Application.

Welcome to the Southern Building Control Application Portal.

You can apply for Building Regulations Approval by submitting an application to ensure that your proposed building work complies with the safety, health, energy efficiency, and accessibility standards set out in the UK’s Building Regulations.

All Dutyholders should make sure they are familiar with Building Regulation requirements throughout the process and along with our online Guidance we will work along side you for the duration of your project.

Use this portal to:

  • Request a Quote
  • Submit a Full Plans application (for detailed checks before work starts)
  • Submit a Building Notice (for smaller, straightforward projects)
  • Submit a Regularisation (if work was done without approval)
  • Submit a Demolition Notice

When you apply using the Portal

We’re working closely with our IT team to upgrade the Portal experience. If you receive an error message during submission, please do not re-submit your application, as it may have already been received. Instead, call us on 0330 024 9355, and we’ll confirm the status for you.

While the upgrade is in progress, you may find it more convenient to submit your application using one of the following alternative methods:

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Working with the Southern Building Control Team

  • We’ll work with the Dutyholders to ensure understanding of the requirements of the Building Regulations.
  • We ensure requirements are met through plan assessment (Full Plan applications).
  • Our Registered Building Inspectors carry out site inspections ensuring requirements are being met throughout the build
  • After a final inspection, we will issue a completion certificate to confirm that the works carried out met the requirements of the Building Regulations.
