CPD Training

We run free "Lunch & Learns" (CPD training sessions) from Dorking, Oxted and Reigate council offices. Aimed at local agents, architects, engineers and contractors, they cover the latest techniques and innovations within the building industry, as well as changes to the building regulations. CPD certificates are issued following each session.

Informal and friendly, Lunch & Learns start at 12 noon and last about an hour. A buffet lunch follows when attendees can network and chat to the presenter and our own team of surveyors. Details of our current programme are given below:

If you would like to join us at our next Lunch & Learn session or be added to our regular CPD email invitation list, please contact Sue Daly at

Building Information Modelling

26/06/2018 15:00 - 16:30

Building Information Modelling

Bob Mewies runs a small building design consultancy practice, based in Warlingham, covering architectural design, building regulations specification, structural design and project management. Over the last 3 years Bob has adopted BIM to drive his practice and uses this to produce plans, design documents and 3D models.

This presentation will outline the concepts of BIM by way of a practical demonstration of how to draw plans for a simple building and show some of the capabilities of BIM based on his experience of using BIM modeling over the last few years. The presentation is aimed at anyone interested in learning about the concepts and capabilities of BIM and how it can be used in practice to improve the efficiency of the project lifecycle.

Please note - This event does not qualify for CPD Certification and is a later timing to our usual events. This will be workshop-style and limited to around 12-15 spaces.
